What is Chin Implant surgery, and how does it work?
Chin implant surgery involves placing a small, medical-grade implant over your existing chin bone under the skin to enhance its size and shape. The implant is chosen carefully to suit your features. The procedure is usually done under local anesthesia with a tiny incision inside your mouth to insert the implant. You can go home after an hour.
What is recovery like for chin implants?
Chin implants is a quick, day-care procedure lasting less than an hour. You can return to your daily activities immediately. There will be some swelling which usually goes down within a week. You may have to eat soft foods for 1-2 days. Once healed, the implant feels just like part of your own body, and it’s designed to stay in place permanently.
What is chin bone reshaping surgery?
Bone reshaping, also called sliding genioplasty, is a surgery where the surgeon carefully cuts and moves a portion of the chin bone to improve its position or size. This approach allows for very precise adjustments. It is helpful if your chin is uneven or you have major occlusion problems. It’s a more advanced technique but offers highly customized results.
What can I expect from the recovery and results of bone reshaping?
Recovery from bone reshaping can take a little longer than with implants—usually around 2 to 3 weeks before you’re back to regular activities. There may be more swelling at first, but as it heals, the results look and feel completely natural because it’s your own bone that has been repositioned.
